Ghanian-Australian artist THATBOYKWAME returns with sophomore album In a Matter of Time, an introspective journey on surrendering to divine timing and the understanding that what is meant for us, never misses.  

We sat down with Rich, better known as THATBOYKWAME to uncover the thoughtful aesthetic behind his character and his approach to the architecture of style:

If great style is timeless, what is a favourite piece or an outfit you'll be wearing forever?
"I'm gonna have to go with this specific outfit here — everything from the colours, to the styling and proportion is just so on point. I feel like I'm in a Wes Anderson film. I could wear this outfit forever!"

A life lesson or obstacle you overcame in the making of this album?
"A life lesson and obstacle I overcame through the process of making this album was to simply trust in the divine. I let go of expectations I had on myself and simply created for the sake of creating. More importantly, I created for my inner child. The kid who saw the world as a place to explore and achieve anything in life that I wanted, knowing that it was within arm's reach."

You're getting dressed for the day — do you pick an outfit based on your mood, a go-to daily uniform, or to spur inspiration?
"When getting dressed for a big day, I find that my outfit is based on a mixture of both! How I'm feeling about the specific outing reflects my mood, which then curates the inspiration, drawing me to express my personality through styling."

A gate-kept spot or hidden treasure you will always visit for those special garms?
"KOT-J! Need I say more? Everything I want and need is there! That's something I won't gate keep!"
