Runway look 65 from Alexander McQueen's Autumn Winter 1997 "Its a jungle out there" Collection.

After his maligned debut at Givenchy (Search for the Golden Fleece, 1997), McQueen's AW '97 collection drew inspiration from the Thomson's Gazelle, a prey animal of tragic beauty, whose lives are continually cut short by the hunt of Cheetahs. Horned models walked a bullet-ridden runway; taxidermie animals and human hair embellished them. It reflected Mcqueen's nihilistic view of the fashion cycle; an autobiography of his own devouring at the hands of the predators of the industry. Ironically, this collection reaffirmed his position as one of the leading contemporary designers of our time. 

Constructed from panelled indigo denim with cowhide leather harness details, this jacket has a streamlined animalistic form with a futuristic padded silhouette. Slim fit with exaggerated notch lapels and functional boutonniere. Two-button front closure, hidden upper button. Functional four-button cuffs. Two back vents. A museum piece presented in excellent condition. Specialist dry clean only
