Runway look 16 and 67 from Alexander McQueen's Fall Winter 1999 "The Overlook" Collection.
Inspired by Stanley Kubrick's seminal film The Shining (1980), McQueen Named his runway after the hotel in which the majority of the film was set. "The Overlook" was a meditation on loneliness and the dilapidation of the human spirit. Animalistic howls and storms of snow whirled around frostbitten ghostly models clad in cobwebs and gothic motifs, recalling the tragic outcome of the narrative.
This item is a museum piece presented in exceptional condition. Constructed from a padded wool blend, the curved forms and rounded panels of the piece are reminiscent of a hooded jacket frozen in place. Slim fit with a mid rise and single latch closure on front.
