Carol Christian Poell: A true experimentalist with a couturier’s approach to the avant-garde. Each hand-made object that leaves his studio is bespoke, a hybrid of artistic experimentation and traditional Milanese leatherwork.
Inspired by the Art Povera movement, The designer radically transforms familiar forms into decomposed objects. Each piece is imbued with this Romanticist philosophy: an amalgam of the grotesque and the beautiful.
Monochromatic boot constructed from wrinkled Kangaroo leather bonded to a malleable aluminium structure. The pair can be crushed and moulded by the wearer to achieve their desired fit. Pointed toe, leather outsole with sculptural grain. Includes tonal rawhide laces which can wrap around the ankle to restrain the form of the boot.
