Description

 A conceptual outerwear piece from the Autumn/Winter 2009 collection, crafted in black wool gabardine with an integrated trompe-l'œil layered attachment. The base is a classic duffle-style coat featuring a pointed collar, wooden toggle closures, full-length sleeves, and adjustable wrist tabs.

Attached to the front is a boiled polyester panel designed to resemble a second jacket, complete with double-breasted buttons, faux pocket detailing, and a built-in hood. A striking example of Rei Kawakubo’s signature illusionary tailoring and avant-garde construction.
