Byan Donnely, known as KAWS, is a Brooklyn-based artist known for his "Companions": chimeric fusions of graffiti portraiture and Disney characters inspired by his double-life as street artist and cartoon animator during the 1990's. KAWS demonstrates an egalitarian high-low approach to his practice by exhibiting his "Companions" in a myriad of forms and availabilities: from large-scale sculptures in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles to small-scale figures on your desk or in your living room.
The Along the Way set from 2009 features two monochromatic vinyl figures, each supporting the other through their unknown tribulation. These small renditions of his large scale sculptures were released in three colorways: brown, grey, and black. This grey set includes original packaging and is in excellent condition.
