For the Spring Summer 2008 collection, Marc Jacobs enlisted American artist Richard Prince to bring a fresh, provocative flair to Louis Vuitton. Inspired by Prince’s Iconic Nurse paintings and his "Jokes" series, the collection took cues from his artistic works that often blended satire, text, and reimagined imagery.
The runway show, dubbed “Louis Vuitton After Dark,” opened with supermodels themed as nurses walking as living canvases—each uniform and accessory echoing Prince’s imagery.
The Jaune Denim Defile Weekender, features a stonewashed Monogram denim canvas, overlaid with a vibrant yellow and blue watercolour style treatment by Richard Prince, giving it that signature painterly, dreamlike effect. A transparent vinyl coating protects the canvas.
Yellow leather accents and gold tone hardware lend a stunning contrast, with one exterior zip closure pocket, 3 interior slip pockets to store your every day or travel essentials. This style also features the iconic LV lock and key.
